2017 PADDLE OHIO EVENTS
Saturday, July 8 – Mohican Scenic River and Water Trail. This float runs from 9:30
a.m.-1 p.m. Meet in Brinkhaven in Knox County near the Bridge of Dreams. To register,
contact Heather Doherty at heather.doherty@dnr.state.oh.us.
Saturday, July 8 – Maumee Scenic River. This “Canoeing with Crawfish” float runs
from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants will meet at Otsego Park in Bowling Green. Enjoy a
scenic float with ODNR staff who will share interesting river features, and investigate the
critters who call the river home. To register, visit

Sunday, July 9 – Mahoning River Water Trail. This float starts at 11 a.m. Participants
will meet at Canoe City MetroPark, located at 74 North Leavitt Road in Leavittsburg. To
register, contact Matthew Smith at matthew.smith@dnr.state.oh.us.
Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23 – Lake Fest, Cowan Lake State Park.
Beginning Saturday at 1 p.m., visitors to Cowan Lake State Park will find a variety of
opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding. Overnight camping options

p.m. Participants will meet at the Caesar Creek State Park campground and shuttle to
the Little Miami River. An electrofishing demonstration will be included. To register,

Sunday, Sept. 24 – Muskingum River Water Trail. This 6-mile float will be held from
12:30-5 p.m. Constructed in 1841, the Muskingum River lock system was designated as
a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. Participants will meet at the Stockport
Lock and Dam parking lot. A shuttle will be provided. The program will include the
process of going through the lock system. To register, contact Bob Gable at
